DOST JLSS Scholarship Application Complete Guide

[March 20, 2019] DOST Junior Level Science Scholarship (JLSS) Program aims to provide scholarships that will finance the education of talented and deserving students in their third year of college and who are pursuing degree programs in the areas of science and technology; and ensure a steady, adequate supply of qualified S&T human resources who can steer the country towards national progress.

SCHOLARSHIP PRIVILEGES

Regular Academic Year

  • Tuition and other school fees | ₱40,000.00 / year
  • Book Allowance | ₱10,000.00 / year
  • Group Health and Accident Insurance | Premium
  • Transportation Allowance | 1 economy-class roundtrip fare
  • Monthly Living Allowance | ₱7,000.00 / month
  • Graduation Clothing Allowance | ₱1,000.00

Summer Allowance (if required in the curriculum)

  • Tuition and other school fees | ₱1,500.00
  • Book Allowance | ₱500.00 (to submit Official Receipt)
  • Monthly Living Allowance | ₱7,000.00 / month for two months

SCHOLARSHIP TYPES

RA 10612 | Republic Act No. 10612 aims to strengthen the country’s science and technology education by fast-tracking graduates in the sciences, mathematics and engineering who shall teach science and mathematics in secondary schools throughout the country.

Qualifications

  • natural-born Filipino citizen
  • incoming regular 3rd year college student in an identified priority S&T course for SY 2019-2020
  • general weighted average (GWA) of at least 83% or its equivalent in his/her first and second years in college
  • good moral character and in good health
  • qualifier of the JLSS Examination

  • Personal Information (Form A)
  • Certificate of Good Moral Character (Form C)
  • Certificate of Good Health (Form D)
  • Certification of Program of Study and Year Level (Form E)
  • Form G2
  • Applicant’s Certification (Form H)
  • Signed Declaration (Form I)
  • Official Transcript of Records (TOR) or True Copy of Grades (TCG) for first and second years in college
  • Two recent (1”x1”) pictures
  • Photocopy of Birth Certificate
  • Photocopy of any document containing your DepEd Learner Reference Number (High School Diploma, Form 137, etc.)

RA 7687 | Republic Act No. 7687, also known as the “Science and Technology Scholarship Act of 1994”, provides for scholarships to talented and deserving students whose families’ socio-economic status does not exceed the set cut-off values of certain indicators. Qualifiers must pursue priority fields of study in the basic sciences, engineering, other applied sciences, and science and mathematics teaching.

Qualifications

  • natural-born Filipino citizen
  • poor, talented and deserving student who belongs to a family whose socio-economic status does not exceed the set values of certain indicators
  • incoming regular 3rd year college student in an identified priority S&T course for SY 2019-2020
  • resident of the municipality for the last 4 years as attested by the barangay
  • general weighted average (GWA) of at least 83% or its equivalent in his/her first and second years in college
  • good moral character and in good health
  • qualifier of the JLSS Examination

  • Signed Declaration (Form I)
  • Official Transcript of Records (TOR) or True Copy of Grades (TCG) for first and second years in college
  • Two recent (1”x1”) pictures
  • Photocopy of Birth Certificate
  • Photocopy of any document containing your DepEd Learner Reference Number (High School Diploma, Form 137, etc.)
  • Parent/s 2018 Income Tax Return / W2 / Employment Contract for OFW / BIR Cert. of Exemption from Filing of ITR / Brgy. Cert. of Indigency (for RA 7687 only)
  • Electric bill for 3 consecutive months. Brgy. Certificate of Electric Sharing – If sharing with other households in paying the electricity bills.

MERIT | The DOST-SEI Merit Scholarship Program, formerly known as the NSDB or NSTA Scholarship under RA No. 2067, is awarded to students with high aptitude in science and mathematics and are willing to pursue careers in the fields of science and technology.
