The Concept Paper (First Quarter Requirement). A concept paper is a summary of a project or issue that reflects the interests, experiences, and expertise of the writer or organization. It generally serves the purpose of providing an in-depth discussion of a topic that the writer has a strong position on, usually with the intent of obtaining funding for that project from sponsors. The terms ‘concept paper’ and ‘proposal’ are often used interchangeably as they can be used for the same function. Here are the expected parts or sections of your concept paper:
Title Page. It includes the name of your YouTube channel, tagline, and logo. It serves as the cover page for the concept paper. It should be in colored print, however still in a business and professional appearance.
Introduction (Use a catchier title for this section). It should include some information about the funding agency, the Philippine Information Agency. You need to demonstrate that you have done your homework and understand the mission of the funding agency and the types of projects that they support. Then you need to identify the agency you represent and how the missions of your agency and the funding agency mesh. Describe any other partner agencies that will be involved and their interest in the project. Your introduction should be in one (1) to two (2) pages.
Project Description (Make your YouTube Channel the title for this section). It includes the definition and description of your project. Three (3) to five (5) paragraphs are enough for this section.
Purpose (Goals and Objectives, use a catchier title for this section). Describe the problem or need that will be addressed by your project. Briefly provide supporting documentation for the importance of addressing this. If you have statistical data, use them. Numbers are always convincing. In short, indicate why anyone should care!
Videoblog Series (Use a catchier title for this section). It should identify all the series of your videoblogs, assign titles and detailed descriptions, and provide actual scripts for the purpose of videotaping. Consider this as the most critical section of your concept paper as this will be the basis for the actual content of your channel. Take note that you should come up and upload at least seven (7) vlogs – five (5) for your strand-specific content and two (2) for your 21st Century Literature class.
Project Timeline (Use a catchier title for this section). Since you are making a proposal for a project, you must indicate here the specific stages or phases of your project development so for your sponsors to anticipate the completion of important tasks. Use a table to present your project development phases, expected startup dates and completion, and persons in-charge.
Budget and Resources Needed (Use a catchier title for this section). You should identify here all the financial and other resources required for the project. Take note that your teacher will conduct an interview with you and request your justifications for the items listed on this section.
Contact Information. This page is dedicated to your list of all the members who contributed their innovative ideas in the completion of your concept paper. While you are required to list all the members of the team here, include in your typing the contact details of the leader and secretary for verification of members’ participation. Same as well, indicate here if others have less participation or no participation at all.
Submissions and Evaluations. For the First Quarter, submit at least three copies of your concept paper for your Media and Information Literacy (MIL), Oral Communication, and 21st Century Literature teachers.
For the Second Quarter, save all your videoblogs in a flash drive and submit it to your Media and Information Literacy (MIL) teacher. This is for filing purposes. As you do it, do not forget as well to provide a list of all the group members and the link to your YouTube channel.
